After the ACTIVATE Conference, participants have gone back to their communities and led a multitude of meaningful projects. Five projects are highlighted below.

b) Train to Lead
c) Youth of All Abilities
d) Youth InterACT
e) Get Active! Go Crazy!

These projects qualified for funding from the Canadian Heritage Youth-led Community Action Projects (YCAP) pilot program.  Project Eligibility Criteria and Outcomes are noted below.

Project Qualification Criteria: 

• All projects were led by youth ages 16-25,
• All projects were supported by a responsible adult or community organization that was responsible for the administration of funds,
• All projects were volunteer-based. 
• All projects were beneficial to both youth and community.
• All projects were selected by youth through a Youth-led Selection Committee.
• 2 letters of support from the community were received for each project.
• 50% of funding cash or in kind was secured by the applicants from community or other sources.
• Each project must be aligned with Motivate Canada’s mission of youth development through sport, education and community (meaning that a sport and/or physical activity component must be a part of each project).
• Applicants met all criteria required by the Department of Canadian Heritage as well as those required by Motivate Canada. 

Project Objectives:

• Strengthen connections between Canadians and foster opportunities to participate in civic life.
• Strengthen sense of attachment youth have to their communities.
• Promote youth engagement and participation in society through volunteering and community involvement.
• Create opportunities to increase the number of engaged youth in community.
• Empower youth to develop and implement innovative strategies that address local issues they are concerned about.
