Mark’s extraordinary story is well documented. After graduating from Bishop’s University Mark earned a spot with the National Football League’s Miami Dolphins and later played for the Houston Oilers and Detroit Lions...
In 1997, he moved back to Canada, and joined the B.C. Lions football club of the Canadian Football League. Beyond football, Mark created and starred in short segments entitled, “the retired cfl guy”, for the comedy network's “game face” series. He also hosted the “big bad sports show” on Rogers cable for two seasons and has been a frequent guest on TSN’s “Off the record with Michael Landsberg.” Mark is also the founder and head trainer for Hatfield's athletic development centre and a professional firefighter in the City of Ottawa. In his spare time, Mark sleeps.

Please accept my extreme gratitude for sending Mark Hatfield to our Annual Athletic Banquet at Renfrew Collegiate.
Mark captured the imagination of our student body and our staff. His story of success motivated our students like none other. Mark epitomizes Michael Jordan's philosophy that "fear and limits are often merely illusions". Mr. Hatfield will forever hold a place amongst the Raiders at Renfrew Collegiate.

The Esteem Team got our students pumped, not only about the Olympics, but about participating in sports. We even got to see one of the Olympic torches! We were fortunate to have the pleasure of two athletes (Brenna Casey & Mark Hatfield) sharing their passion with our students. I would recommend these presentations to all schools as a great way to encourage students to, “Reach for the Stars”.
D’Arcine Thompson - Principal, Convent Glen Catholic School
We, at the McCann Clubhouse (Boys & Girls Club) really appreciate your generosity and enthusiasm in supporting our needs to help give our children a means to success. Without people like you and the Esteem Team, finding funds to support the high need of competition and challenges is very difficult. So again, thank you so much. Mark Hatfield and your Sogo Active team showed our young leaders that they are able to accomplish and make their goals a reality.

It was great having you (Mark Hatfield) present to our junior and intermediate students at Alta Vista as part of the Esteem Team. The SMART Goal message you brought was relevant and meaningful and delivered in an engaging way. You could tell that you had the interest of students... so many stayed afterwards during their break to get your autograph. I would be pleased to recommend your presentations to others!
Vivian Bright, Principal Alta Vista Public School, Ottawa ON
I want to thank the Esteem Team once again for coming in and speaking with our group. Your story was certainly one of personal perserverence as well as inspiring, and touching. Thanks for bringing your enthusiasm, sense of humor and motivational messages. I think the presentation you guys gave not only provided us with a great snap shot of the wonderful work you are able to provide to youth, but it also provided a bit of a team building opportunity for us as well! Thanks so much for the wonderful work you do.

Mark was energizing and motivating for my students with Learning Disabilities. They used his speech as a springboard to creating their own short term SMART goals.

Mark is an energizing and inspirational force!! He had his entire audience – young and old, alike – laughing, crying, cheering, on their feet, moving. We were enraptured! Mark is a special person. I am proud that he is a friend of ParticipACTION – helping us move Canadians more!
Kelly Murumets, President & CEO ParticipACTION
I recently had the pleasure of hearing Mark speak as we celebrated Sports Day in Canada. As an excellent role model and promoter of physical activity, Mark inspired us all with his story of perseverance and determination.

ESTEEM Team's Mark Hatfield visited our school on Thursday for a motivational, hilarious, goal setting assembly this week.
He is a former NFL/CFL/CIS football player who now does public speaking, on TV shows, and is a firefighter. I've never seen such a great show nor such a well-organized group. We've never had a better assembly in all of the 10 years I've been at Canterbury! Such a well-organized group you have that benefits so many students in different ways! The cost is only $600 as it is subsidized by Motivate Canada. There other speakers you can choose from. There are also small group options from ESTEEM Team. I would definitely recommend having him or another member of their team at your school.
