Rob Cox

Rob “robo” Cox has always had a love for all sport but began focus on the sport of archery back in 2002. In the ensuing years, Rob was faced with many major operations that kept him away from the sport he loved. After years of on-going rehabilitation, he returned to competition and went on to win numerous medals at the national and international levels including gold at the Canadian indoor championships. Furthermore, Rob has represented Canada at the World Games in Korea where he took home a bronze and at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing, China.

The holder of 4-Canadian archery records is in training to qualify for the 2012 Paralympic Games in London, England.

When Rob is not training or competeing in archery, he works in law enforcement in Winnipeg and loves to play Sledge Hockey.

Rob has had to overcome a lot to get where he is today, but this did not stop him from reaching for his dreams. He is here to share his story with us and inspire us to achieve our dreams.

Making the 2008 Para-Oylimpic Program.

Learning sign language.

Who was your role model when you were young?
My grandfather because, no matter what I did, he aways believed in me.


I expected to have the athlete simply present on his sport, but I was happy that he was interactive and engaging.  Rob (Cox) was both amusing and inspiring, keeping the students interest for well over an hour.
