Activate National Youth Leadership Conference

• Brings together 40-50 young Canadians aged 16-22 from every province and territory in Canada to explore talents, skills and interests.
• Knowledge centered activities build a wide-range of skills by providing opportunities for connecting with, and learning from, peers and adult mentors.

Activators in Action

• Provides an opportunity for the new “Activators” to further develop their skills by accepting additional leadership roles in their schools, clubs and communities.
• Provides tools, support, monitoring and mentorship, both off and online.
• Encourages youth to become enablers, forces for positive development community development. Activators are also encouraged to act as role models fostering leadership potential in their peers.

Program Outcomes

• Youth leaders develop a personal leadership philosophy that reflects greater knowledge, capabilities and confidence.
• Youth learn how to share knowledge, and build strategic skills and strategies for identifying goals, setting priorities, making decisions and implementing ideas.
• Youth learn how to work in teams, foster an ability to reach consensus, adapt, resolve conflicts, and build alliances.
• Networking effectively, youth learn from peers, and how to connect with and involve multiple stakeholders in making a positive contribution in the development of communities.

We believe that providing inspiration, learning opportunities, and a healthy environment and positive interactions with youth and mentors, youth will develop the self-esteem and life skills that they need to succeed.
