I left ACTIVATE feeling inspired and encouraged, and I returned to my office Monday with hands full of amazing information and business cards that I have already put to great use. I would reccomend to anyone who wants to make a difference in their community, or is searching for inspiration or a plan to attend ACTIVATE. You won't regret it!

ACTIVATE 2009 National Youth Leadership Conference

I was the youngest person at ACTIVATE but it never mattered.  Nobody made me feel like my age was a handicap.  A lot of people even seemed to think it was an asset and an advantage of mine because I was so interested in ACTIVATing others at a younger age than they were.  I interacted with everybody and we were all just one big family.  I can't imagine going through my life without these people, just knowing that they are out there gives me a huge moral, confidence and energy boost. ACTIVATORS are special people and I am so proud to be a part of them.

The ACTIVATE program has changed my outlook on life. Being in a room with delegates from across the country, crying, laughing; talking about sport and how it can be a tool for change is amazing. The people, skills, and ideas that I have received through my three ACTIVATE experiences are invaluable. ACTIVATE is an experience you can't get at school, on a sports team, or in your hometown. ACTIVATE is a feeling, an emotion you can only feel when you are around people who want to make a change as much as you do.

This conference allowed me to reflect on the fact that a lot of our youth are not given a fair shake and are not at the table to talk and bring ideas forward; it is conferences like ACTIVATE that give our youth a voice and bring those wonderful ideas to the table.

ACTIVATE 2007 National Youth Leadership Conference

ACTIVATE is a program which has changed my life. It has inspired me to chase my big dreams of creating a better more physically active nation for all Canadians. It has given me the skills I need to realize the need for small goals and a plan to meet these big dreams. ACTIVATE has also allowed me the opportunity to find mentors who will help and guide this plan so that my dreams will be realized and put into action. It has also helped me in establishing a network of individuals with whom I share common dreams, and with whom I can now proudly call my friends. ACTIVATE is more than a conference, it is a life-changing experience and not a day goes by that I don’t think of my new found friends, or make use of my new life-skills in chasing the dreams I so desire.
